"I can't imagine being anything but a psychiatrist. This is what I was meant to do."
Dr. Tzvi Furer is a double board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist and the founder of Palm Tree Psychiatry, a concierge practice built around thoughtful, individualized care.
He trained at NYU Langone Health and Bellevue Hospital, and spent much of his early career working in New York before relocating to Florida. His experience spans inpatient units, outpatient care, and emergency psychiatry, which gives him a broad perspective and a steady, grounded approach to complex cases.
Dr. Furer is an expert in the treatment of anxiety and OCD in high-functioning individuals, recognizing the pressures from school, work, or performance settings. Many of his patients are insightful and driven, but feel stuck or overwhelmed in ways that aren’t always obvious from the outside.
At Palm Tree Psychiatry, the approach is intentionally more personal. Dr. Furer takes the time to understand the full picture, not just symptoms on a checklist. Treatment is grounded in evidence-based care, with careful, thoughtful use of medication when needed, and attention to lifestyle and other contributing factors along the way.
He is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, recognitions that reflect his ongoing involvement in the field. Dr. Furer continues to be involved in both local and national medical organizations, advocating for patients and professionals in the field of mental health.
Dr. Furer understands that reaching out for help is not always easy. It often comes at a time when things feel uncertain or overwhelming. Being part of that process is something he takes seriously, and it’s a role he values deeply.
